In Russia, on the coast of the Caspian Sea, about 2,500 bodies of dead seals washed ashore in a few days. This was announced by the authorities of Dagestan, reports the Russian BBC NEWS service.

It is reported that on December 3, nature conservation experts counted about 700 dead Caspian seals, but by December 4, their number increased and reached the largest scale in the last ten years — 2,500.

The Ministry of Nature of Dagestan stated that the mass death of seals is due to natural causes and will not affect the animal population. The department claims that during the autopsies, a large amount of samples were collected, detailed bacterial analysis, virological studies, in particular the examination of tissues for the presence of the COVID-19 virus, were carried out.

However, earlier in RosZMI there was information that the seals , probably died due to the release of natural gas. This is due to the fact that the Caspian Sea basin is characterized by various oil and gas manifestations.

It should be noted that it is from the Caspian Sea area that Russia regularly launches missile strikes on Ukraine. From there, the occupiers launch Kalibr cruise missiles from ships, as well as Kh-101 and Kh-555 with the help of Tu-95 and Tu-160 bombers.

Recall that on September 22 it was reported that hundreds of whales washed ashore Australia. Australian rescuers recorded that about 230 marine animals washed ashore, most of them died.

On September 20, it became known that 14 bloody whales washed ashore in Australia. According to scientists, one of the probable reasons is that the leader of the pack of toothed whales made a mistake regarding navigation.
