The requested page title is invalid. It may be empty, contain unsupported characters, or include a non-local or incorrectly linked interwiki prefix. You may be able to locate the desired page by searching for its name (with the interwiki prefix, if any) in the search box.
Possible causes are:
- an attempt to load a URL such as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/| (the | character is unsupported);
- an attempt to load a URL pointing to a «non-local» interwiki page (usually those not run by the Wikimedia Foundation). For example, the URL https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/meatball:WikiPedia will give this error, because the «meatball:» interwiki prefix is not marked as local in the interwiki table. Certain interwiki prefixes are marked as local in the table. For example, the URL https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/meta:Main_Page can be used to load meta:Main_Page. All interlanguage prefixes are marked as local, and thus URLs such as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/fr:Accueil will work as expected. However, non-local interwiki pages can still be accessed by interwiki linking or by entering them in the search box. For example [[meatball:WikiPedia]] can be used on a page, like this: meatball:WikiPedia.

The Academician Sergey Korolev’s Memorial House
About tour
Not far from the Monument to the Conquerors of Space, in one of Ostankinsky side streets, there is a two-storied mansion hidden in the garden behind the green wooden fence.
This house, built in 1959, was presented to S.P. Korolev by the Soviet government for creation and successful launch of the first in the world artificial Earth satellite.
Sergei Korolev lived there for six years (1959–1966). These were the years of hard and intensive work of Korolev and his colleagues.
In this house-museum everything was preserved as it was during Korolev’s lifetime. The museum collection holds approximately 19,000 items: personal belongings of Sergei Korolev, documents, letters, photographs, furniture, household items, fine art items, scientific technical and fiction literature libraries. All exhibits, possessed by museum, were presented by Nina Koroleva, the wife of the chief designer: from the Kiev Polytechnic Institute young student’s neat handwritten notes of the 1920-s to the notebook which tells about the chief designer’s worries and concerns of his last month.

Getting here The Museum of Cosmonautics, 111 Prospekt Mira, VDNKh subway station, Moscow, Russia
If coming from downtown, exit the metro station near the front of the train, and after exiting the station, turn left. The Museum is located in the base of The Monument to the Conquerors of Space.
October 4 th , 1964
The Monument «To the Conquerors of Space» was erected at Prospekt Mira in Moscow. This outstanding city landmark has been jointly designed by architects Michail Barsh and Andrey Kolchin, and sculptor Andrey Faydish-Krandiyevskiy. The 110-meter titanium monument at VDNKh became a symbol of the qualitative technological leap of its time. The launch of the first artificial Earth satellite, the first living creatures and the first man in space became the starting point in the world space industry.
The Soviet government initiates the creation of the Museum of Cosmonautics at the foot of the Monument «To the Conquerors of Space» in memory of the nation’s achievements in space exploration.
The Museum of Cosmonautics opens its doors to public on April 10, 1981, on the 20th anniversary of the first manned space flight.
Museum exposition gives a retrospect on how Soviet space science evolved starting from first man-made satellites subsequently followed by the first manned space flight, first space walks, Moon exploration programs, Solar system exploration programs and international space research programs.
Intricate interior design and unusual exposition altogether created a unique individuality of the Museum. However, new times set new standards. 25 years since its first opening the Museum has been closed down for a massive renovation. Now the Museum shows all the newly accumulated information and latest technologies.
The modern exposition includes:
- Introductory Hall
- Dawn of the Space Age
- Creators of the Space Age
- Space History and Culture
- Manned Space Navigation
- Moon and Solar System Exploration and Research
- Space Science on Service to Mankind
- International Cooperation in Space
