Happy birthday! Four million Baby Boomers will turn 65 in 2024 — the largest number in U.S. history. By this summer, 12,000 people born in 1959 are projected to reach this milestone every day, a phenomenon referred to by some as Peak 65.

As you likely know, 65 is the age you first become eligible for Medicare. It is also a great time to consider the changes that will come to your life affecting your finances, your health and general physical well-being. You might also want to take advantage of some perks that come with age.

Here are some things to know:

Seeing something more

Mills’ relationship with Koa starts on some rocky ground. Their inability to communicate — because they don’t speak the same language — makes for some frustrating moments between the two, with Koa sometimes doing her own thing, which really gets under Mills’ skin. However, Mills eventually warms up to Koa because he sees her as something more than just a helpless survivor — he almost begins to see her as a surrogate daughter. While it at first appears to annoy Mills, he definitely appreciates Koa’s interest in learning about his daughter through video messages. They watch a hologram of her together in the cave and it feels like a real bonding moment between them.

Ultimately, Mills and Koa have some real father/daughter energy in some of their more light-hearted moments together. It’s these moments, which connect back to Mills’ daughter and the way that he does everything he can to protect her, that make it clear that he sees his daughter in Koa. Plus, once we learn that Mills already knows that his daughter is dead, it becomes obvious that he’s trying to make up for what he couldn’t do for Nevine.

Mills and Koa’s bond is a central part of the film’s heart and arguably the main thing that keeps them going over the course of their survival adventure.

The Jacksonville Jaguars should give second-year running back Tank Bigsby more carries. Against the Indianapolis Colts, with the Jaguars leading 27-20 late in the fourth quarter, quarterback Trevor Lawrence pitched the ball to Bigsby, who stiff-armed Colts safety Julian Blackmon en route to a 65-yard touchdown.

Bigsby played a crucial role in Jacksonville’s 37-34 victory over Indianapolis (2-3). The former third-round pick out of Auburn ran for 101 yards and two TDs on 13 carries.

During his rookie season, Bigsby didn’t have a significant role. He only rushed for 132 yards and two TDs on 50 carries in 17 games. This season, however, he’s becoming a valuable contributor. Entering the matchup against Indianapolis, the 23-year-old had rushed 172 yards on 21 carries. He ranked 15th in the NFL in yards per carry (8.2). Bigsby’s emergence could be crucial for Jacksonville. He and Jaguars RB1 Travis Etienne Jr. could form a backfield tandem, possibly providing the juice Jacksonville needs after a 1-4 start.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. snaps 65-race losing streak with NASCAR at Talladega win

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. snapped a 65-race losing streak by winning in overtime at Talladega Superspeedway after a late crash collected more than half the field, including eight of the 12 championship contenders.

Stenhouse is not in the playoffs and his victory Sunday marked the second consecutive week a driver not competing for the Cup Series title has won.

The victory was the first for Stenhouse and his JTG Daugherty Racing team since he won the season-opening Daytona 500 to start 2023. He won in a three-wide finish between Brad Keselowski and William Byron, who with his third-place finish became the only driver locked into the third round of the playoffs.

Four drivers will be eliminated from the playoffs next Sunday on the hybrid road course/oval at Charlotte. Joey Logano, Daniel Suarez, Austin Cindric and Chase Briscoe are all below the cutline.

Cindric was the leader with five laps remaining in regulation when Logano, two rows back, gave Keselowski a hard shove directly into Cindric. It caused Cindric to spin and 24 of the 40 cars in the field suffered some sort of damage in the melee.

The race was red-flagged for nearly nine minutes of cleanup, and 22 cars remained on the lead lap for the two-lap overtime sprint to the finish. Many of those 22 cars were damaged.

Keselowski finished second in a Ford for RFK Racing and was followed by Byron in a Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet. Byron is the points leader headed into Charlotte and his cushion is large enough to earn him an automatic spot into the round of eight.
