1 октября 2024 года Google снова стал подтверждать подлинность аккаунта пользователя по номеру телефона из РФ.

Ранее в Google сообщили, что у некоторых пользователей в РФ есть проблемы с использованием учётных записей. «Мы работаем над решением этих проблем. Мы по-прежнему стремимся сохранить наши бесплатные сервисы доступными в России», — пообещали в Google.

9 сентября Google начал запрещать пользователям из РФ создавать новые аккаунты с российскими номерами телефонов. Облачная система Google давала сделать все шаги для создания новой учётной записи, включая выбор имени, пола и даты рождения, а также придумать название почты и пароль к ней. Но подтвердить мобильный номер РФ не получалось, так как появлялась ошибка, что этот номер нельзя использовать для подтверждения.

В Google не прокомментировали этот инцидент. Профильные эксперты считают, что это был серверный сбой или у Google были проблемы с компанией, которая рассылала коды для подтверждения.

Пользователю Хабра в техподдержке Google сообщили, что «возможно, на данные номера телефонов уже были созданы Google аккаунты, поэтому нужно использовать новый номер телефона, на который еще не было зарегистрировано ни одного аккаунта. Сейчас Google позволяет создать только один аккаунт на номер телефона, а раньше можно было создавать до пяти аккаунтов на один номер».

10 сентября Google вернула возможность подтверждать подлинность аккаунта пользователя по номеру телефона из РФ. Вероятно, ранее возникшая проблема по этой ситуация была техническим сбоем, которую в американском сервисе решили.

26 сентября в Минцифры подтвердили СМИ, что Google ограничила создание аккаунтов российским пользователям. Также операторы связи зафиксировали значительное сокращение количества СМС, отправляемых компанией российским пользователям. Минцифры посоветовало пользователям создать резервные копии своих данных в Google. В компании Google не заявляли СМИ о введение ограничений для обычных пользователей из РФ.
