Employees The Investigative Committee of the Kaluga Region announced the initiation of a criminal case into the illegal organization of three mining farms on the territory of an industrial enterprise in Kaluga.

According to representatives of the Investigative Committee, two employees of a local enterprise installed three cryptocurrency mining farms on the premises between May and September 2025.

Their actions led to a significant increase in electricity costs and caused material damage worth more than 1 million rubles. During the investigation, investigators conducted inspections of the mining farms and searches at the suspects’ residences.

All the equipment for mining digital currencies was seized, as well as computer equipment and communication devices. A criminal case was opened under Part 2 of Article 165 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (causing property damage by deception by a group of persons).

Earlier, employees of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the Irkutsk Region, with the support of the National Guard, infiltrated a production facility in Irkutsk and dismantled a large mining farm with 1,275 devices.
