After the words about the help of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation: the TV channel “Dozhd” had its broadcasting license revoked in Latvia
The Latvian National Council for Electronic Media decided that the management of the Russian media is not aware of the significance of its violations.

The National Council for Electronic Media of Latvia (NEPLP) decided to cancel the broadcasting license of the “Rain” TV channel . The head of NEPLP, Ivars Abolinš, wrote about this on Twitter.
According to him, such a decision was taken due to the threat to the security of Latvia.
“In connection with the threat to the security of the state and public order NEPLP made a decision to cancel the broadcast license of the “Dozhd” TV channel, – Abolinsh clarified.
The TV channel will be stopped from December 8.
As NEPLP believes, the management of the Russian mass media is not aware of the importance and seriousness of his violations, therefore he cannot work on the territory of the country that adopted the TV channel.
The decision to cancel the license was made at a special meeting convened in connection with the current situation.
The management of the TV channel has not yet commented on the decision of NEPLP. The news about the cancellation of the license appeared in the Telegram channel, but without its own evaluations.
TV channel “Rain”: what happened in Latvia?
< p>During the evening news program “Here and now” of the TV channel “Dozhd” on December 1, the presenter Oleksii Korostelov said that the reports of the magazine istists help with the equipment of the Russian army. Later, this fragment was cut from the air of the program, but it remained on YouTube.
The public sharply criticized such a statement by the mass media, which positions itself as an opposition. As a result, the chief editor of the TV channel Tikhon Dzyadko wrote in his social networks that the phrase said by the presenter does not reflect reality, and “Dozhd” is not engaged in providing assistance to the Russian army.
The next day, Korostelev was released. However, it was not possible to shut up the scandal that started like this.
Latvian Defense Minister Artis Pabriks proposed to cancel the residence permit in the country for employees of the Russian TV channel.
As it became known, Korostelov's statement on the air is not the only mistake of the TV channel. In one of the programs, they also showed a map of Russia, where the Ukrainian peninsula of Crimea is depicted as part of Russia.
Recall that “Echo of Moscow” and “Dozhd” in Russia began to be blocked almost immediately after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. According to the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation, the publications publish “false information” about the actions of the Russian military at the front.
