On Monday, December 5, the Russian occupiers launched the eighth massive shelling of Ukraine. As a result of the attacks, the energy infrastructure was damaged and civilians suffered.

Damage to energy facilities
In “Ukrenergo” it was reported that as a result of today's attacks by the Russians, the facilities of the energy infrastructure of Ukraine were damaged. Because of this, emergency power outages had to be applied.
At the moment it is known that, according to the deputy head of the Office of the President Kyryl Tymoshenko, two infrastructure facilities were damaged in the Odesa region. Due to this, there is no light in Odesa and a number of other settlements. Water supply was cut off to all subscribers due to the fact that the pumping stations were left without electricity. A similar situation with boiler houses in the regional center.
Large-scale destruction of the energy infrastructure is observed in Kryvyi Rih. The head of the military administration, Oleksandr Vilkul, warned that the city's lights could be completely turned off.
Problems with electricity supply also arose in the Sumy, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, and Mykolaiv regions. Emergency shutdowns have been applied there in order to prevent accidents that may occur due to strikes by the occupiers.
Injured and dead people
Olexandr Starukh, the head of Zaporizhzhya OVA, said, that as a result of the attack on the village of Novosofivka, two people were killed and three others were injured. Among the victims is a small child.
At the same time, the adviser to the head of OP Tymoshenko said that in the Odesa region one person was hospitalized due to shelling.
Interruptions with the Internet
Internet outages began in major cities of Ukraine after missile strikes, according to data from the Netblocks profile service.
According to the service, Internet outages were recorded in Sumy, Zhytomyr and Odesa.

The Kyiv City Military Administration said that ten missiles were recorded in the capital's airspace. According to preliminary information, nine were destroyed by air defense forces.
At the same time, 15 enemy missiles were shot down in the area of responsibility of the Eastern Air Command, according to the head of the local OVA Valentyn Reznichenko.
In The Ukrainian military was able to destroy up to 10 rockets in the Poltava region.
At the same time, the total number of rockets fired over Ukraine is still unknown.
