“Alienated the territory of the Russian Federation”: the FSB requests the arrest of Ukrainian officials Vereshchuk and Japarova

The Deputy Prime Minister and the First Deputy Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine have been declared an international wanted man. They are charged under the article, which provides for up to 10 years of imprisonment.

FSB investigators asked the Lefortovsky Court of Moscow to arrest in absentia the Deputy Prime Minister – the Minister of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk and the first Deputy Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Emina Japarova. This was reported to the RIA Novosti agency in court.

Ukrainian officials are accused of allegedly violating the territorial integrity of Russia and “alienating” part of the territory.

The article provides from 6 to 10 years of imprisonment, a criminal case has already been initiated against them, the journalists noted.

“The court received a petition of the investigation to choose a preventive measure in the form of taking Emine Dzaparova into custody in absentia Aiyarivna and Iryna Andriivna Vereshchuk,” the sources said.

FSB investigators are asking the district court to take the accused into custody from the moment of their actual detention, extradition or deportation to Russia, TASS adds.

They have been declared an international wanted person, the date of consideration of the request of the FSB has not yet been determined. Iryna Vereshchuk's card appeared in the search database of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, but Japarova is still not there.

“The basis for the search: she is wanted under the article of the Criminal Code,” said the security forces.

Vereshchuk and Japarova have not yet commented on the decision of the Russian court and the security forces.

It should be noted that the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emine Japarova, is known for her participation in the organization of the Crimean Platform summit. During this event, representatives of other states come to Kyiv to discuss the decision regarding the deoccupation of the peninsula.

Iryna Vereshchuk deals with the problem of immigrants from Ukrainian regions temporarily occupied by Russia. In October, she asked those who left Ukraine not to return until the beginning of spring and warm weather.
