UAVs that attacked Russian airfields flew from Ukraine. They were coordinated by special forces, – NYT

The drones that attacked Russian airfields on the morning of December 5 were launched from the territory of Ukraine. One of the strikes was allegedly carried out with the help of Ukrainian special forces.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to The New York Times.

The publication, citing the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and a high-ranking Ukrainian official, notes , that the drones were launched from the territory of Ukraine, and at least one of the strikes was carried out with the help of special forces near the base, which helped guide the UAV to the target.

“The strikes signaled Kyiv's new readiness to fight with bases in Russia's rear , raising the stakes in the war, and for the first time demonstrated Ukraine's ability to attack at such a long distance,” the NYT article says.

It is worth noting that the Ukrainian side does not confirm its involvement in the explosions at Russian strategic airfields.
